This study aims to investigate the role of ascription in life chances in Georgia by studying associations between individuals’ characteristics they have no control over and their educational and labour market outcomes. Author argues that one of the reasons why the inequalities in life chances have increased in recent decades is the growing gap between educational expansion and occupational upgrade and the resultant inflation of credentials.

ეს კვლევა მიზნად ისახავს საქართველოში ცხოვრებისეულ შესაძლებლობებში კონტსტრუირების როლის გამოკვლევას იმ ინდივიდუალთა მახასიათებელთა კავშირების შესწავლით, რომელთაც არ აქვთ ამაზე კონტროლი, აგრეთვე მათი საგანმანათლებლო და შრომით ბაზრის შედეგების. ავტორი ამტკიცებს, რომ ერთი მიზეზი თუ რატომაც გაიზარდა უთანასწორობები ცხოვრებისეულ შესაძლებლობებში წინა ათწლეულებში არის მზარდი სხვაობა საგანმანათლებლო გაფართოებასა და პროფესიულ გაუმჯობესებას შორის და შედეგად მიღებული კვალიფიკაციების გაუფასურება.
